Well I tried to seal some venison and noticed that it was surrounded with air like the herring I just tried to do. Sucking time is about 40sec and seal is 1.3 and cool is 2.5

VP215. I also noticed that the needle doesn’t go past the end line (I thought it used to go to the ‘M’ of the MPa)

**** 40 seconds depending on the bag size should shrink those babies to minnows lol. Not familiar with the vp but is the seal bar all cleaned up ? That’s where I would start

Got off the phone with them today and looks like I have some sort of vacuum leak...

If others could check to see if it is a 'regular' amount that would be appreciated. To test, simply close lid and then you have 5 seconds left of vacuum cycle, turn off machine with red switch. Keep and eye on gauge and vacuum should maintain level. My needle drops about 1/8" every 2 seconds

i find slightly freezing anything i vac pack helps remove trapped air caused by moisture, Andrew, great idea on the leakdown test.
