Unguided trout fishing

I am wondering about unguided trout fishing prospects in the Kamloops,
BC area in early August.
I would appreciate any thoughts on this and if one could expect to catch trout being a first time visitor to the area.

Merle-it's hot as blazes now it'll be that much hotter in a few weeks-fish are completely off the feed.
Fishing for the most part will be poor to awful.
Maybe you can catch something in the mighty Thompson if you don't get swept away-treacherous wading makes it a dodgy place.

try thuya lakes...will still be good at this time of year..be sure to have alot of leech patterns...
