Transom pad for kicker

I need a new transom pad for my kicker. I've seen one at my local marine shop for about $60. Seems a lot to spend on a chunk of rubber though. I'm considering getting a truck mud flap from Can Tire for $30 and using that. Anyone have any other ideas? Maybe a transom pad isn't necessary?

I used an offcut piece of LVL from the jobsite. Probably worth more than the $60 in today's market though.

I have miles of scrap conveyor belt Could pick ya up some or anyone for that matter. About 3/8th thick maybe 1/2 inch no cost . Happy to help
