Touch up gel coat before putting on hull guard

I am looking for information on touching up the gel coat before putting on a hull gard
Which type is best
For a 185 double eagle

Unless there are large damaged area'a that the keel guard won't adhere to,
don't bother as it will be covered up anyway.
