Thrasher Rock Lately?

I'm thinking of a trip accross to Thrasher Rock tomorrow. Does anyone about fishing situation there recently?

I know where five fingers are and the canery, but can anyone explain wehre thrasher rock is, or where it is around? Can I find it on a chart? Thanks

Thrasher is off the East end of Gabriola (its named on the marine charts near Gabriola reefs).

Was red hot on Friday and Saturday!

On Friday I went beond Thrasher in to Grande and it was dead ...but I scored big on prawns and crabs along the way. [8D] The weather was perfect going both ways.

At the Grande this morning. Lots of large herring around. Had 1 on, lost to seal. 1 other hit.
Only other fish we saw anyone into...1 guy lost 2 to the seal.

Seal 3, humans 0...bring on the cull.

Anyone else have any luck there today?

From what I understand, from 2nd hand information, there were limits for a few boats on Friday from Thrasher...

Too bad we weren't at Thrasher. The info I had was that the Grande was the hotspot. Maybe tomorrow I'll run the extra 5 minutes to Thrasher.
That being said, there were plenty of fish on the sounder at the Grande/Waterfall. Giant herring around, didn't have any spoons big enough.
We had a big-butt seal follow our boat around for 2 hours.

went out a few days, only got one legal fish.
downrigger cable snapped so i only had one rod
and there was only 10-13 sporties out there[:0]
most i have ever seen

I saw that dumb-butt seal too, and he followed me off and on.

It was still a great trip. Wonderful weather. The old boat ran like a top. [8D]

Keep the information coming, and I'll do it again soon ...and maybe find a fish or two.

seals are everywhere out there, but im pretty sure they are full of herring.
but feel free to remove the pests

I read this late sunday and had to go out .
Found the sweet spot, had nice 10# to the boat but ****ty netting job by me and lost it, went back over the spot and after a nice battle had a 15-18# in the boat! had one more on felt good but lost it .
No camera this trip .

went to porlier sunday, nothing happening and a bit of slop.
thrasher i would say is a better bet
