Theodosia....NOT

Finally made it up to Theodosia. Mud flats at the head of the bay made it impossible to get to the head of the bay by boat so we tied up at the logging camp and hitched a ride up to the head of the bay. Gotta love friendly logging truck drivers as it cut 5km of our walk.

The river was MUCH lower than I expected at this time of year. We slogged up the bank a few kilometers hopeing to find some deeper pools but nothing over a few feet and no signs of any type of fish/fry anywhere. The amount of blow downs with the winds we had last fall made for quite the workout getting up and back.

Pretty area but there are lot's of lakes that are a lot easier to get to and much more productive so this goes in the "been there, done that" category and we move on. Next on the list is portaging the canoe into Unwin Lake...

We did however stop of at the sand bar between Savary and Hernando on the way home and limited out on flounder in an hour so all was not lost. We used the light spinning rods for catching the flounder which was a hoot.

And man was it a beautiful day out there today... as long as you didn't look up as the snow line was only a few hundred feet above us...

yeah that river seemed pretty dead from that site posted about it[xx(]
