MikeP raises the bar - wow what a "bluefin" !!!!

While I have had fish over 40lbs locally and on the West coast, yet to crack 50. Never fished north of Van Island.
95% of my fishing has been Vancouver/Gulf Islands so a little different playing field. Several over 30 in Vancouver but my biggest Vancouver fish was a quite dark 41.5 lbs off T10, early Sept. -taped out/released. Releasing that fish was an amazingly great feeling. Mojo was also on that week as I landed a chrome 40.5 lb solo on the highway/offshore Esperanza just 5 days earlier ( which made it way easier to release the 41.5!!)

Like this one, Jeffy?

Caught by a 15 year old girl, 51 lbs on gold flasher/uv head/med herring @ Hyson Bank Aug 2010

When i get home off my crappy laptop, to my PC i will post a pic of my recently departed to the big fishing hole in the sky best friend with a 47 caught on an 8 wt fly rod and a 5 inch plug. His wife got a 38 an hour later on the same rig.
An afternoon to remember for me forever.

First one here is my biggest landed in the 4 years i have had a boat 30lbs Near Winter Harbour on an army truck anchovie holder. Second one was my good family friend and the biggest I have guided anyone to or landed in my boat. 38lbs on a bloody nose teaser head south of Malcolm island near Port McNeill. The 38lb'er made my dad and I's 25.5lbers flanking it look small.
