Salmon Meat Color

The old chest freezers were -30 to -40 and did not self defrost or cycle every few hours. Your meat stayed in perfect shape for a couple of years if packed right without freezer burn.
 
Great thread, very informative. I too thought the colour of the meat was determined by the diet of the salmon. I've learned a new word too :cool: .......piscivorous (thanks finaddict) :D
