Was wondering where you learn how to build rods, classes? was interested in building a 3 peice centerpin for hiking into remote streams... is it possible

find the blank that suits your needs and go from there have rebuilt quite a few rods in the last year or two and even stripped my old carp rods down and re-built into trolling rods
lots of suppliers out there on the web but a custom built rod is going to be way more expensive
than a mass produced off the shelf tackle shop one by a well know brand Shimano or others etc
have fun if you do your own though it will make catching a fish on it that more enjoyable/memorable

all so if you do go building your own make up a rod drying jig
as your best to use 2 part epoxy to varnish the whippings
use d size thread and a decent set of scissors and craft knife
20lb braid to pull the whipping back through
and have a good file to flatten the step on the guides
and if its your first go at building
strip an old rod down first and rebuild that before going out and shelling out for a few $$$$ for a decent blank
just to see if you can or have the abilities to do it
