My Dad was there the day it happened.Said the ground shook so bad it knocked him to his knees.Would've been something to see for sure!

Ya same here my mom was in elementary school at the time. She remembers everybody being evacuated to high ground. They really werent to sure what was going to happen (tidal wave, earthquake, etc). I hiked the trail this summer to the top of the rocks over the site and read alot about it. Pretty cool and i think there would be far to much red tape to pull something like that off today.

I hike from the cove, s/e out of the rfca , along the shore to the bluff before the lighthouse for a cast a few times early summer.Since have taken the steps and suspension bridge away and replaced it with a road.
