recommended not for braided line

can anybody tell the not they use for braided line, had a big halibut break my line at the not a couple of weeks ago at 12 mile

I'll second the palomar knot for typing to gear. When joining braid I use a blood knot.

I always use the Rivers Inlet knot (knot, not "not" ) for tying braid. See this link - http://www.salmonuniversity.com/ol_knots.html
