Question: Where can I download FREE Charts for Garmin GPS?

A friend of mine just bought a new Garmin handheld GPSMap 62s.

He uses it mostly for hiking and travelling logging roads, but would also like to get local (Vancouver, BC) area marine charts for it.

Does anyone know where I can download a good, free set of charts for him?

Tried to get some once for a garmin free, the maps worked on my computer but not in the gps. Dont think they are out there.Spent about 10 hours searching, that was 5 years ago

Somewhere in my collection of disks, I have a bunch of Garmin charts and maps from a few years ago. They were real finicky about installing on the computer. Sometimes they would install fine, other times not at all.

We were able to download a really good Canada Topo map called Ibycus Topo 4.0 - you can find it on BitTorrent - www.kat.ph
