prawning/pinks near porteau cove

I've heard there's great prawning around porteau cove. I'll be up there mid august and was wondering if I should bring the prawn nets or if will have been fished out by now.

I'll probably bring the 12' aluminum so will be pulling by hand.

Any suggestions on where to set traps? There's 200' of water pretty quickly outside porteau cove. Or the run to defence or anvil island is pretty quick and there's some nice looking water there

Anyone target the pinks anywhere around there besides furry creek?

I've heard of a few pinks showing up at Furry already, caught from shore. Sometimes you can get the odd nookie or ho too en route to the Squam.. Only one way to find out.
