O-FISH-ALL 2014 Vancouver, Howe Sound, Sunshine Coast Reports Thread!

Same, well I guess within reason.

Hey getbent will you have the new boat out?

Not sure if we'll run south Canso....may try the north arm early and the switch things up for some springs. I will have the radio on though. ;)

Green horns on the boat. Sorry not an excuse for this many fish and so few landed. Sounds like after the first loss there was no instruction. No reason to go out without a legal limit every four years. Either you are fishing or catching. Tight line and no excuses.

Left Vancouver Harbour tonight at 630pm to head to Salt Spring and the sockeye were jumping all the way out in the harbour ... kept going and dropped the lines for 30 minutes half way between North Arm and Iona as the combination of the Northwester and outgoing tide was wreaking a little havoc in the Harbour. Little on the sounder and no jumpers near North Arm but we hit one +/- 10 lb spring on sockeye gear at 80 feet.

Was pretty nuts. On the way back in after one of the crew turned an interesting shade of green we ran into a huge school. Dropped gear because the surface was literally boiling and hit a triple immediately. Landed all 3, picked up the gear and ran the rest of the way in. 2 complete noobs on the boat and nothing but HUGE smiles all around, one was a slightly green one. Was nice to put smiles like that on friends' faces.

Splashing the new boat today Canso, long process but finally done.
Love doing shakedowns in these conditions... All good
