No end to the amount of people to weak to face life head on I guess. Why can't people just enjoy life man ? I understand it somewhat I lived a dependant lifestyle for years, I can't believe how good it feel to just enjoy life with a clear head and thought all the time, such a weight lifted. This is just going to be another crutch for people. Should make the governments happy, more tax dollars and a stoned population, a socialist governments dream.

Surprised this thread existed for so long before someone decided to inject their moral superiority, and some language straight out of "reefer madness". I personally don't use it anymore, but I do use alcohol, and support the legalization since marijuana use has become so widespread and the resources used to fruitlessly fight it were a complete waste. Seems like common sense to legalize it, provide a safe supply, and yes provide some tax dollars. Could the rollout have been done better? Of course, but the approach used in WA and OR of throwing it wide open right away has resulted in quite a bit of chaos in the market as too much pot and too many stores for the long term demand were opened. Establishing on-line distribution was smart, and a a year from now there will be plenty of physical stores to buy it if you prefer that method.

Ya it's remarkable how entrenched some posters appear wrt their perspectives and feeling of isolation - eh, California? Because - smoking dope turns you into a dreaded "socialist" - a false & ridiculous narrative straight out of the McCarthy era. I would have suspected that those whom desperately claim that the "economy" and "capitalism" are their heroes - would have been more in favour of making money. No. It’s not going to get cheaper. Do you think BCLDB wants to see $1B in income diminish? Just like alcohol, the Provincial distributors of Cannibis will keep the price up. Inflated. Just like wine. Go to any other continental Euro country and you pay half what we do for wine. Why? Because the product goes straight from the winery to the store. No middle man. The wine producers aren’t getting rich. The distributor in this case is because of markup and taxes. They will always make 30 percent regardless of how inefficient they are. More of our money they can spend.

It's not from moral superiority that I'm viewing it just a personal observation is all. Believe me I'm no one to view anyone else in such a manner, nor is it from ignorance. I'm a child of the 80's believe me I've smoked bags of the **** back in the day and the good stuff when it still came from the country of origin. Smoked regularly up until about 20 years ago.
I find it ironic that society as a whole is so against smoking cigarettes and they should be, yet making it legal to smoke weed is somehow the gift of all gifts to mankind lol, I just don't get it. They say it's going go along ways to unclog the legal system BS this is going to create more legal issues with impaired driving laws, illegal grow ops on and on. Its just a cluster F#>k is all it is.

The difference, walleyes, is that smoking cigarettes is legal, and now so is smoking marijuana. Further, while many advocate the medical benefits associated with marijuana derivatives, I'm not aware of any medical benefits associated with tobacco use. Finally, I don't think that anyone, particularly a child of the '80's who has smoked "bags of the **** back in the day", would think that any issues regarding impaired driving and illegal grow ops will arise out of the legalization of the use of marijuana that haven't existed since you were a child of the '80's. Taking enforcement and charges associated with possession of small amounts of marijuana and what will now be considered legal grow ops out of the legal system will go some way to "unclog" the legal system.

The only medicinal uses of Marijuana is that it dulls the senses and may alleviate pain in some cases it doesn't cure anything. Sucking the stuff into your lungs is not good for you in the least, you don't cough you dont get off saying is for a reason. And don't use the medicinal issue as an excuse for legalization it was already legal for medicinal use through prescription.
But what ever,, smoke and eat and puff away I'm sure it will make everyone smarter and more alert lol.

Why can’t people just enjoy life, indeed?!! Lol! If you are enjoying life so much what’s got your knickers in a knot if other folks make a conscious choice to use a drug that’s extremely low on the harm-scale, far lower than either tobacco or alcohol? As far as the Socialist comment goes, isnt it a fundamental populist/right-wing stance that government shouldn’t be telling grown-butt adults what they can and cannot do?
