Hi all,

Looking to drop a mooring anchor on Ruxton island (a little south of nanaimo).

Anybody have a referral .. or anyone on the site able to assist with a job like this?

It will need to hold a 8,000lb boat.

Thanks for any leads!

Our family hires Mercury Launch and Tug out of Horseshoe Bay. Not sure if they make the trip over to the Gulf Islands....I'm sure they'll do anything if you pay accordingly.

I think @cracked_ribs has a place on Ruxton...he might know an outfit to do it.

I do indeed have a place on ruxton but I'm afraid I did my own mooring, because I'm in Naylor bay which is pretty shallow.

If you were placing it in Naylor I'd offer to help you myself but I assume that size of boat you're going in deeper water and need someone to drop a big weight. I just screwed in helical anchors at a very low tide.

I had a Helix morning installed in the Gulf Islands by Murray from Advanced Subsea Services. They are out of Sidney. They
Helix work great but you need a mud or sand substrate for the big screw.
