Thanks everyone for their help. Wife drove the F350 until Camping season started, driving around with a Lance Camper in town is something I only recommend for an Islander born here.
Whipped over to Acura Langley yesterday and picked up a used RDX, and since the I grew up with the GM in Courtenay it was painless. They get lots of the trade ins from their dealership group since they have a big lot and had marked it down $3000, where the JP in Victoria wasn’t willing to budge, more than $500.
Wife’s needs won out over any towing requirements and it is nice to have a vehicle we can whip up to Courtenay with and keep the kids safe in. Will make my 6 seater diesel feel like driving a hummvee but that’s alright.
