lingcod fishing????

Your best bet for lings and springs in that area would be outside Porlier. Depending on your boat size you could run to Thrasher.

North reef( towards crofton from tent) holds some lings but earlier in the season. Go deeper off north reef now and you might still find one big enough. X2 for porlier pass this time of year.

Check the chart and tables - Don't transit Porlier at full flood and ebb. We fished in a tin boat there for years.

I see lots of tin boats out there. Make sure the tide and weather are ok and you will be fine, don't take chances if it doesn't look good stay inside. You will find salmon on the south side of the gap fish from porlier down to the white triangle marker, stay close to land, it drops off quick. Watch, bottom can be hard on gear. Make sure you stay out of the rock cod zone.

is there any lingcod or salmon in front of polier like where you head into to go through the passage??

Just get out there and try!! :p That's the fun of fishing!!

As others have said though be careful in your boat in that Porlier area as it can be dangerous with a running tide. I have gone through there in a 36' boat and been bounced around pretty good.
