Johstone straight sockeye

I am planning on fishing for sockeye around Chatham point, greensea bay area and was wondering if anyone has had much luck yet.

Saw a couple Sockeye taken yesterday at Chatham.
Up there today and the whales came sceaming through and over to the other side of Sonora.
Not much action today after that.

thanks for the info, i hope to head up on the weekend. Little bear bay, and chathem point.
How deep do you fish for sockeye, i was thinking about 40 to 60 feet, with both downriggers doubled up.

I use pretty much the same gear set up as Alberni.
22 - 24 inch leaders, purple haze flashers, and mb182, mp15, mp16, party girl and nasty boy spoons. and stack 4 or more rods.

I ended up fishing in browns bay/ deep water bay. Sockey are showing up landed 4 out in the middle of the channel between seperation head and the wall at browns. all fish at 60 feet and typical sockey gear.
