Jigging For Winters

Weather permitting, I'm heading out to Sooke on Saturday. We are going to jig for springs. Is Pedder or Beacher better? We want to stay in either bay for our fishing.

Thanks.

Thanks LastChance,

I've noticed that you have had lots of luck at Whirl Bay. Depends on the weather though. We have a small double eagle. Thanks for your input.

Crabbing can be good in both area's.
keep an eye out for the floats along the right hand side
as you run out of pedder.
or, 150 yards off the boat launch at Becher.
Use chicken backs for bait if you can get them.

How'd you make out?
I wanna try Becher when I get over to see my folks.
Where should I concentrate for springs?
I'll be jigging some minnows and spoons.

We didn't catch anything. The current was strong and we found it tough to get our lures down there before they were on a forty five degree angle. Somewhat frustrating because everyone else was catching their limit. I think you need to troll in the winter.
