I'm feeling the need to troll deep

Google images. There were others. If conditions are right, I just let the ball down till it hits bottom, then raise and lower from there.

When fishing for springs 1 fathom to lead flasher, any stacked flashers above that 2 1/2 fath.
Notice which way the line is being pushed under the boat either by tide or wind. The side that is being pushed under the boat must be set shallower or have a heavier cannonball than the line being pushed away from the boat. Try to turn into the side that is being pushed into or under the boat. If it looks really dicey crank up the side that is being pushed under the boat and then reset once the turn is complete. Increase your throttle during the turn, watch the line that is trying to get into the prop very carefully to make sure you don't catch the prop. If all of this is too much then just run one rigger with a couple of lines stacked on it and never turn in a manner that puts that line under the boat thus avoiding tangles and lines in the prop.
Playing around with 2 lines at a couple of hundred feet is easy, try 100 fathoms of wire ( 600 feet ) with 6 lines and numerous flashers off each line.
