Saw a post in another forum on this topic, about a different area, and it peeked my interest. When do the herring start to run up the gorge in Vic Harbour?
I acknowledges that the herrings start to run up the Gorge by NOW. But the best time for the Gorge to have thick schools of Herring is in the middle of March.
I drove over the Craigflower bridge this morning and there was a line of jiggers off the bridge...as I drove by I saw one guy bringing in one and putting it into his ice cream pale... looking at his emtpy pale it was his first one ! and it was nice big one to, 5-6 incher! LOL...
Good to hear you lucky people still see herring in your nabourhood. We used to see all kinds in the howesound too, now there are virtually none.] If you see a herring it's a good day to buy a lottery ticket. **** on DFO[B)] and others once again.
I'm setting my priorities. I'm making time for fishing.
