k so if you catch a wild steely down deep, and its bleeding pretty good and you dont think it will survive is it better to unfortunatly bonk it rather then takin the chances and releasing it, or is it best just to let it go and let nature take its coarse?

The unmarked steelhead has a better chance in the water than lets say getting hit over the head. Also I do not think a C.O. would believe you, that you did it for the fish's sake. I do not know what the fine is nor do I want to. Let it go!!! pure and simple. And yes let nature take it's course. Decaying salmon feed the river, so to will that unfortunate steellie. If we start making room for the honest besure those without remorse would kill them all.
