Fishing from shore

After reading the posts all year, I can hardly wait to come to Vancouver Island again. Unfortunately I don't have a boat so I am limited to a degree. I have borrowed this "giant" fishing rod and "monster" reel from my buddy. Can anyone tell me a spot where a guy can fish from beach into the ocean? My boy and I wouLd love to catch something on this baby. We are going to Campbell River for flyfishing some pinks, then we are thinking about going as far a the road will take us. Any info about the above would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How about the big fishermans pier in Campbell river. Many tyee taken off there every year.
As far as pinks on the fly, you've got 1/2 a dozen choices north of C.R.

There is supposivly great fishing off the huge pier that you catch fish from in campbell river by the government wharf
