Fishing from shore in Victoria area.

Hey guys and gals, I'm wondering if there's anywhere in the Victoria area that one might have some success fishing from shore. My daughter, son in law, and three grandkids are heading there in a few days fom Alberta. It's the first trip to the coast for my son in law and grandkids. Son in law is an avid fisherman, but can't afford a charter by himself (he could afford to hook up with another party), so he's wondering about shore fishing opportunities. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks........Ken

I heard on Friday a guy caught a 15 pounder from the breakwater wall, shore casting. Buzz bomb, just watch for the kelp, it'll get expensive real quick.
Bit of a trek, but guys do well casting off of beechy head in East Sooke.
I know guys cast at ten mile point, but I don't know if they are getting anything there.

Plus Victoria golf course, Otter Point, first - third rocks east of Gordon's Beach. Caught salmon at all those places.
