They’ll be another election in 2 years. Trudeau lacks the leadership and intellect to deal with a coalition. He’ll be bending over every week to an NDP or Bloc bill. They will drive him nuts. And, I sense there’s more about Trudeau and his time at West Point Grey we don’t know yet. Something is brewing. It’s going to be a cluster f@ck for 2 years. Hang in there. The Cons will bring back Peter MacKay. Who should have been in this campaign. In the meantime fishers need to stick together. Form our own coalition of sorts.

Great upbeat post, ILHG. Thanks for that!

Also agree w your analysis, WMY - Trudeau will stay away from contentious issues/bills - as he won't want to loose too much political capital and public image if/when those bills get defeated in the commons. He will also need a few "wins" though to show that he and the party he dominates is "leadership" material (esp. in time for the next election).

So... That's where the horse-trading will happen - the low-hanging fruit - if that can be found. Trudeau can handle coalitions Pescador - as long as the other partner is SNC Lavalin...

With the election now over, we are getting back to being a place to discuss fishing. Given the climate around a number of political decisions made regarding fisheries this past year we allowed a lot of leeway in this area leading up to the election. Now that it is over, that leeway is gone. We never intended to be a platform to discuss politics and we won't be moving forward. This thread along with others that we let stand to discuss the election will be closed to further comment.
