Father’s Day spot prawn outing

My boys want to take me fishing for Father’s Day and would love to set prawn traps while we troll around. We are in lower Vancouver Island and thought about putting the traps in pat bay and trolling around Deep cove for catch and release. Does that break any regs?
Any better ideas?

Commercial prawn guys are out now, best to stay far far away from them if you’re dropping traps. Don’t want to lose any traps and also unlikely to get decent numbers if they are or have been in the area.

No issues trolling for salmon.

No, that doesn't break any regulations and is a great idea. We were surrounded by them last weekend and still managed to get our limit but it'll be harder on short soak after they have dropped hundreds of traps in the inlet
