ETec --Yammi Comparison

2013 250HO 'TEC, love it. never a problem with it. starts in half a crank, very quiet very clean, more torque than any comparable engine.
Bottom line, others mfgs have some catching up to do...

I've got a gen 1 225 Etec on a Grady seafarer. I get 2.5 mpg at 30 mph and 4000rpms. The motor is quiet , doesn't smoke and has tons of power. I've had 8 people on the boat, full coolers and a full tank of fuel and it still got up on step fairly quickly. I would buy a gen 2 in a heartbeat .

I'm sure I could get much better fuel economy if I slowed down a bit but to be honest I love burnin fuel. It usually means I'm doing something fun

how many reliable hrs are going to be on these new 2's?

My G1-300hp says 9.5 gph at 3500rpm on a 23' . That's from the i-command. Does anyone use different gauges other than command?

Link that gph data to your plotter an then it can calculate real time mpg. Much more useful information.

2013 - Etec 250 HO - 7000# boat loaded, 245 Walk-around.

3900-4100RPM

2.2 - 2.8 MPG @ 28-30mph.

10-11.5 GPH @ 28-30mph

Info from ETEC gauges (non-icommand)

I am very confident in these numbers and base several long trips on them without fail so I can be fairly certain the gauges are correct in their fuel consumption info.
