Looking for some feed back
Got a couple scotty downriggers
Trying to decide to mount it on back deck near transom
Or forward more and use the Scotty 1025 right angle mounts ?
I use to a more forward position but how is the scotty 1025 mount ? is it sturdy enough or does it flex a lot ?
Would appreciate any feedback on the two mounting locations as mentioned, pros and cons

I've been using the right angle mounts for 20 years.
They work great for boats with narrow gunnels

The farther back you go the less issues you'll have with cable interference from the props. Here's mine on 17 DE.

I used the right angle mounts on my last boat. They're fine, but you want them sitting on something to support them.
