Dear Bamfield/Ucluelet Charter Guide....

I hope a certain charter guide reads this!

I fished Kirby point on Sunday and witnessed a charter boat catching and releasing many smaller chinook salmon. This is great, but however the release method was the worst I've ever witnessed.

Grabbing the fish around the belly and back and RIPPING out what must have been barbed hooks judging by the force, and THROWING the fish back to the water, is a sure fire death sentence for that fish. Why would you do that?? You are killing the future of your industry and the sports sector as well. I understand this is menotonous to those out every day and you might get frustrated, but for the love of Pete, treat this valuable resourse with respect or you will find yourself on the unemployment soon.

If I was absolutely 100% sure of the name of the charter boat in question, (my photo was slightly blurry), this would be going to the DFO and not a public forum.

Get a grip dude, if I see this again, your name will be plastered everywhere I can throw it.
