I am heading to Cuba at the end of June and having seen this type of post on other forums, I thought I would try it here.
As I am sure you are aware, there is very limited access to and a financial inability, to get any (decent?) fishing equipment in Cuba, for regular Cubans.
So I thought I would ask, does anyone in the Victoria area have equipment they would be willing to part with?
I was pretty amazed when I started researching this trip. Things like fishing line and bare hooks are very welcomed.
I am planning on bring a few spools of 30-60lb braid, packages of wire leaders, hooks, and a few crappy tire telescope rods.
Other items like Rapala type diving lures, mono line, or spin caster reels are something desired.
I don't mind paying for the extra weight in a suitcase, but no rods that won't fit in a suit case; the rates for 'non-standard' items is stupid.
Anyway, just thought I would throw it out there.
Will pick up around the Victoria area.
If any of the serious 'tackle ******' or others with connections
are interested please let me know.
