Converting an inboard to an outboard

I'm not sure if this is an option for you. But SEI is a company that sells replacement stern drives for boats with . I'm pretty sure I have read that they have adaptors for OMC drives to accept one of their drives. They come with a full 3 year unconditional warranty. A lot of guys on a different forum I'm on ( iboats.com), have used them and they say they are very happy. Basically mercruiser copies, and apparently their costumer service is really good. An Alpha 1 drive by SEI, sells for 1300 US. Then you need the adaptor kit. If you want more info, I can try to help you out. I would go this route rather than rebuilding an OMC drive.

Here is a link to their website. Their OMC kit looks like its for the cobra drive. Search the site, or call the 'technical support' line. I've called them before and they were really good. They also have a forum on their website. Check that out, there is also a 'cobra' kit forum.
