If you are in a derby for big fish. I wouldnt bother fishing small spoons and gear. I find if you go for large plugs and 5" + spoons then you might not catch as many fish, but you will likely get away from smaller coho and smaller chinook and those bigger lures will usually result in hooking into some of the larger fish. Last year one day we kept catching coho and really were hunting chinook..so put on a large Tomic plug and the only hook-ups after were chinook. good luck!

Gonna be tough fishing for 3 in you kayak with the 15-20k wind predicted.

Yeah be careful not to get pushed shallow into shore.
