Towing a 14x7 double axle through Quenel on Sat nite. Was towing it with a Ram 3500. Inside the trailer 2 quads and gear. RCMP Intergrated Traffic Safety pulled us over. Said the only reason he stopped us was because of a commercial plate on trailer. Told him that it was and has never been used for commercial reason , but ICBC said it must carry comm plate. he told us to follow him back to scale. Front axle 2100 kg, rear axle 2200 kg and trailer 2250kg. Over weight he said and gave us a ticket and told us to be on our way!!! Sounded like a cash grab but what can you do ? Any way to ditch the comm plate and go to a small plate? Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

Was the officer wearing a Stetson by any chance? We have an officer here in Quesnel that has a bit of a reputation.
