Canucks 2021 Season

So was Benning really a player personnel genius (I don't believe so :) ) who stuck with a really poor coaching staff too long? Suddenly the Canucks can move the puck out of their own zone and don't just shoot from the perimeter as soon as they can in the offensive zone?
Or maybe Boudreau is such a genius of a coach. Snatched everyone's balls and made them perform like the average NHL players!

Finally a sports league that figures it out. Don’t sit out players who test positive with no symptoms, only to have consecutive negative tests right after. It’s turning sports upside down. They need to acknowledge that there are many false positive tests.

Myers is down as of this morning. TSN says NHL cancelled Leafs/Canucks today. Arizona tomorrow as well.
Officially now run out of worthy Netflix movies to entertain the clan.
They’re also talking about suspending the NBA games for a “circuit breaker” .
Gonna sign up for Disney+ and watch the Beatles documentary.

The NHL has postponed the next two games for the Vancouver Canucks.

The local team was meant to play against Toronto Maple Leafs’ game Saturday and the Arizona Coyotes Sunday.

The false positive rate is high with rapid testing. Key reason why Bonnie has been meh on them as a widespread tool. At first everyone is happy that they know definitely they're pos or neg. But two days later do they test again? And then they start hearing about the false positives and begin to doubt any result. Becomes pointless pretty quickly.

The problem is, (and don't get me wrong - I'm vaxxed) this new variant for most people isn't much more than a regular flu, so young, fit athletes in most part don't even feel it.
Many are testing positive but could probably even play, with little effect. Don't know if we're ever going to be free of 'variants' and at some point, hopefully most everyone will be vaccinated and we can just treat it like 'the flu'... ??

7-0 baby. Nice to see hockey back for the time being.
Sloppy first and second but excellent 3rd period. Got their Sea legs and with Fowler down the Canucks took over. Couldn't believe Gibson the Canucks menace stayed in the net on Millers great OT winner.
On to LA tonight.

Yup, to bad about the streak but let's face it for 2 periods that was Green hockey out there. Other than Halak it was a stinker as it looked like everyone was skating in quick sand. Miller was off, Hughes outlet passes were stymied and EP40 as mentioned has lost his game again. Kings with speed, hard work in the offensive and neutral zone left the Canucks flat footed all night. Typical loss after a long layoff and second game in.
On to Seattle.

Many Canucks seemed bagged and slow, one assumes from reduced conditioning from all the time off, followed by a back to backer. Hopefully they will be better tonight. They need Boeser back, their lack of depth is showing.
I thought Halak was brilliant, except for the one shot he let in. A long shot from the point, apparently unscreened. An NHL Goalie needs to stop that shot all day long, especially playing for the Canucks who seem to win or lose a lot of games by one goal. Can't blame him for the loss though, he stood on his head after that and gave them a point and a chance to almost steal another win despite overall weak team play.

Good team win tonight and way way better defence zone coverage. Had its moments with the lineup adjustments but the team is becoming hard to play against. I like that but EP40 was again invisible. Thought he had turned the corner as the Canucks really need him in top form. Really liked Motte and Highmore's play tonight.
