I think it needs a little more HP
Transoms probably falling apart. 225hp over rated capacity. The weight of the two 425s is 1900obs...two 300/250s is 1160.

Don't get me wrong I'd love to own it and deal the challenges...thing probably planes in a single engine.

Buy it, sell the 425s and hang new 300 with helm master. Probably come out ahead if you can find 300s.

Here’s mine

1975 Marlin glascraft 17.5’

I have owned the boat for 8 years now and have recently repowered the boat from 2 stroke to 4 stroke outboards in the spring. This boat has been amazing to me and never gave me issues, the only reason I’m looking at selling is because I’d like to move into a cuddy style boat next and a little larger. Boat has been in freshwater since I bought it. Never stored uncovered!

Boat and trailer are registered into my name. And the K number is registered to me as well.

The hull is a lapstrake deep v fiberglass design by marlin glass craft which made boats in surrey BC back in the early 70s till early 80s. Handles the chuck and lake water very well! Also has very tall gunnels which for a tall guy like myself 6’3, I don’t feel as if I’m going to fall out when running gear.

Main power

1998 Honda bf90 4 stroke carb, with, power trim and tilt, new oil change with filter. Runs quiet and smooth.

Kicker is a 2003 Yamaha 9.9 high thrust long shaft, electric start with low hrs and charging. New oil and filter just done in June. Has remote throttle control installed so you can adjust your troll speed at the helm. Engine is mounted to an adjustable garelick mount.

The interior has 1 sleeper seat on the port side and a cushioned swivel seat on the starboard side, works very well and comfortable. The boat top is weathered and original but works to keep the sun and rain off, has side windows for it and 1 has a small cut in it but still works well and keeps the wind off you!

Boat has been wired for electric downriggers and will come with 1 Scotty 1106 rigger and swivel mount. Dual batteries are wired at transom, also has 2 - 6gal fuel tanks 1 for each engine with prem gas in them.

Hummingbird 787ci2 color chartplotter/finder combo with no nav chip.

Alpine mp3 stereo deck installed and speakers.

Marine VHF standard horizon with 8’ whip.

New dock lines, bumpers, life jackets, anchor. And has Scotty rod holder mounts and will come with a couple.

Trailer is a road runner, roller trailer with new tires and full size spare. All lights work. Could use some new bearing buddy caps but they still work and I grease them every time I use the boat.

Not in a rush to sell the boat it owes me nothing!

Didn’t we just see this one listed and sold a few weeks ago for pretty much same price?

I'm a big fan of those hulls (Wellcraft Coastal) ,great ride. But I'm not going to buy it with the good chance of having to replace that motor and having $50K into it.But I guess $50K with a new motor wouldn't be out of line in todays market,I'm blown away daily at the prices on boats. For Example:

$69,000 · 1990 Target 22

Kind of a cool little boat,but $70K cool ,I don't think so.

That thing is worth 4k. in 2007 I bought a 1989 malibu with a 2002 mercury two stroke. dual axle trailer paid 10k. depreciation and the single axle. Its robbery.
