Best Rain Jacket

grunden, boots, jacket and pants.

Grunden looks like a great product to have for the boat if not moving around too much. I'm leaning on a few brands still; Taiga, Simms and Cabelas Guide Wear.

I like that Cabelas Guidewear has a set of bib pants. Maybe I can use these for ice fishing.

Not the answer you asked for but if you want to get a little more life from your existing jacket.

I bought it at an outdoor sports store and my jacket keep me dry again

The wash in stuff works wonder (especially if you've never treated your jacket and it's hurtin') https://www.amazon.ca/Gear-Aid-Revi...e=UTF8&qid=1538840975&sr=8-4&keywords=revivex

Then upkeep with the spray https://www.amazon.ca/Gear-Aid-Revi...e=UTF8&qid=1538840975&sr=8-2&keywords=revivex

Cheaper from Amazon US if you pick up in the States, but since you're not near the border.....

I ended up buying a Simms Wading jacket. This should do the trick. It had a bunch of features I really like. It has hand warmer pockets, a large hood, and two large outside pockets.

I looked at Cabelas in Abbotsford also and really wanted the Guide Series jacket and bib pants. Unfortunately, they did not have a size available that fit me. This setup would have been perfect for ice fishing and I could have used it on the boat also.

Can't go wrong with Simms gear. Best setup for me when offshore fishing - Cabela's goretex guide wear & bib combo, river fishing on boat - Simms goretex guide bibs + MEC goretex pro shell low cut jacket.

Patagonia shortie for the river, HH Impertech jacket and Cabela's guidewear pants for the boat. Black Diamond pants for the messy stuff, like elk. Those suckers are heavy but they just will not die.
