Beach/Bank fishing near Comox Valley

New to Comox Valley and looking for some beach fishing opportunities.

Are there any beaches with decent surf perch fishing around here? Would also welcome info on where someone could beach/bank fish for some bottom fish (cabbies, lingers, bass etc.)

Was thinking of trying King Coho because I know it drops off sharply there, but other than that I was just planning to go explore.

Any info is much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to head to the west coast for surf perch (Tofino/Ukee). There are plenty of salmon opportunities from shore in the summer and fall (Aug-Nov) for pinks, coho, chinook, and chum. The Discovery Pier in Campbell River is often talked about as a good spot year round, but I don't have any experience there.

Their is good casting from shore for fall coho and pinks down at the old Comox Logging log dump in Royston where the breakwater is made of old wrecks but only in the fall.
