Me and some friends of mine are planning a trip to BC for some fly fishing. We do an annual fishing trip ... Allagash Waterways in ME, Bllings/Missoula, MT and Mount Evans, CO have been the past few trips. We want to go to BC primarily for freshwater fly fishing and wanted to get some more information. We are looking for the rustic cabin type experience and are willing to explore on our own if we can get some good advice on where to fish and where to stay. We want to fly into Vancouver and be within 2 hours of the airport. We will probably do a Wed - Sun trip. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Not possible-2 hours from YVR ain't far enough.
Understand that Vancouver is a city of 2 million+ people-local waters are pounded hard and don't offer a quality experience.
A trip to the country around Merrit or even farther north to Williams Lake 4 hours from Vancouver-last 2 weeks of June/first week of July would be ideal-offers excellent lake fishing.
I suggest contacting the Moderator of this board Bill Luscombe privately-he is a something of a legend in FF circles-or so I'm told.<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

You can also fly into other places in BC, Kelowna, Prince George, I think Kamloops too. If you fly into any of these places your only a short jont to what your looking for. Pretty much any region of BC has the rustic cabin thing right up to the remote cabin thing. If you happen to pick the Cariboo region of BC, let me know and I can give you all sorts of great places to fish and explore.
