Yeah I am screwed right now like all the other BC businesses right now. So this thing isn't a joke anymore, and now I am concerned. Most of us won't be able to afford toilet paper soon. So maybe it was warranted.
Haha, why call me out if you don't know what my my thread was about. REALLY ????Dude...... this is a corona virus thread now. No idea what 'your' thread was about ... asking if we were stockpiling or something but the
answers and questions are likely a lot different from a week ago.
The point is we are in a very different place than we were a week or two ago. A very different place. And we will be in a different (likely not better) place a week from now. It has nothing to do with your thread.
I joked about this virus being a non issue...but that was wrong. This is a big deal, medically and otherwise.
There is a worldwide pandemic. The markets are free falling. Countries are shutting down borders. And, we as a country are just barely in the beginning stages of what is going to come.
As you know, there are a LOT of countries that are on full lockdown and quarantine. Lockdown means people don't leave their house unless they have a pass or are part of the relevant workforce and are allowed to go to work.
Knowingly infected people are going to jail for up to 12 years in Italy.
It appears as though the world is going from all the freedoms we enjoyed to Martial Law (suspension of rights) in a matter of a month..
What will historians say when they look back at 2020?
The TP issue is the least of any ones issues. Tp is made locally and they have ramped production way up.
The more concerning issue is they have warned business now that they need to be prepared to shut down for 3 week. Most small bruises can’t eat that kind of expense.
The reason the stock market has freaked out is there is a real chance we could be heading into a depression.
Hope all the freaking out is for nothing but seems this thing has the potential to get very nasty.
The worst part about this is most businesses peak season is comming up.
Way less people are travelling. Also keep in mind the ferries only used to run on odd hours not that many years ago.50% reduction in ferry service ?
now the remaining ferries will be overcrowded
good planning !
Essentially BC ferry is maintaining its winter type schedule and not going with its planned spring break/holiday increase. Just consolidating empty boats into 1/3 full...50% reduction in ferry service ?
now the remaining ferries will be overcrowded
good planning !
At the ones that aren't open anyway?
yeah it was a silly question so i deleted it. altho who knows how long this is going to last something i read said at least till june.
Personally, I could care less about the things that I could or could not have right now. My heart goes out to all the people who are are sick or dieing from other ailments whom are now isolated and cannot see their friends and families or even have visitors of any sort. They don't have Corona and are not being separated because of it...they have other issues and are now stuck in the middle alone. Hospitals, hospices and other institutions are locking down and allowing no visitors, regardless of being family or close friends. Some people are dieing alone in their last bit of time on earth. Sad things that are happening that we don't normally even think of. The effects of Coronavirus are deep and wide. This event is more than you think but it is also less than it is.
Very Informative Video.
I rather strongly suggest that those who are under 50 and think of themselves as somehow "invincible" in this matter have a boo:
By all means share the link to this information so that we can judge if it's valid. There is much mis-information as well as dis-information on the internet regarding stories like this.I know you are trying to debunk everything that you disagree with, however it is real. A mother and daughter from the interior of BC travelled a long way from home to Vancouver Island this weekend to visit and stay alongside their dieing family member...they had set aside almost a week to do so only to find out that they would not be allowed to share any time with the patient who is under hospice care for a different illness. So due to Coronavirus protocols the family was rejected access.
So, you are mistaken again...
