[Four-Reel Drive]

Fished 5-8pm last night from the bell buoy to the freighters. 3 hits. only one in the boat which was undersize. Another hit that was gone before grabbing the rod. Last one I went to set the hook (maybe a bit too hard) and it snapped the line (maybe tangle) but was a fish on for sure.

Anyone see anything in the new regs just posted regarding slot size? All I see is 1 retention of chinook till aug 29for area 28/29

No slot size, 1 a day

Had a great day out at the sand heads , picked up one Chinook well over 35 lbs ,didnt pluck it out of the water but been fishing long enough to guess pretty close to the weight, even got it on the go pro , used a small Irish cream , down 80 feet on a slow 1.5 rack. Got into a second one , well over 15lbs , then had a epic fight with a seal right beside the boat got that on the go pro as well , used a red / clear anchovies hood , down 80 ft again at the sand heads in 250ft of water. Also had two more hits but long line released them. All this happened in 3 hours ,even after loosing 3 cannon balls. There is something out their catching lines in 80ft of water, got r of my 15's , lucky I make them .. Still all and all great day

Subareas 20-1 and 20-2 (excluding those waters north of a line from Owen Point
to the Port San Juan Light/Whistle Buoy, then to Woods Nose), 20-5, 29-3 to 29-
5 and 29-8:

- 00:01 hours August 1 to 23:59 hours August 29, 2019, 1 Chinook per day;
- 00:01 hours August 30 to 23:59 hours December 31, 2019, 2 Chinook per day.
- As per Fishery Notices 0507 and 0696, management measures for Southern
Resident Killer Whales are in place in portions of Areas 18, 20, and 121. These
measures include no salmon fishing in Subareas 20-3, 20-4, 18-9, and portions
of Subareas 18-2, 18-4, and 18-5 and sanctuary closures (vessel prohibition
zones) in portions of Subareas 18-4, 121-1, 121-2. Please refer to FN0507 and

My hands are Large, and since I was unable to get it around his/her tale , I'm thinking its 35 lbs at least , Whatever it was was an epic solo fight

Hahaha, I caught my fare share of Chins in over 40 some years, so I have a pretty good idea of Chinook size by their smell and it smelled like a 40 but I said that ain't a fourty so I settle for 35. lol

Thrasher was slower than last Thursday . Not nearly as much bait . Still managed 5 undersized . Maybe the big tides had something to do with it.

Still hot at Sandheads. Just put a 15# in the box after a fight with a seal that I lost about 30 min earlier. Just north of Sandheads in 250 water rigger at 95. Green flash with anchovy. Go get em.

How are the seas right now? I might take the long way up and cruise by sandheads but I cant get away until 2 at least. Nice work!
