While I agree that it may be underpowered I don't think that twin 150's equal a single 300. Twins from my understanding result in something like 25% less power applied in the water. I went through this when I built my Northwest 27 but decided on twin 175's rather than a single 300 from the advice I received from those more in the know than myself.

Nice deal on the boat too.

I was talking about getting the boat moving. Two props under power will make it move faster. Once you’re moving it’s easy to keep the boat moving. There’s a weight trade-off with having two motors but I think having more prop turning is better than less prop to get the boat moving and planing.

What I think you're saying is that this era of Campion is prone to deterioration of the transom & stringers?

You're saying that you had a 1992 215 model with four-stroke Suzuki 175hp and you sold the whole rig for $6500?

So you're thinking that this 1994 185 model for $13,500 is overpriced?

I’ve got the same boat with twin 200s. I think you are right. I think the added drag of two engines may eat some of the horsepower. My boat is identical to the other Commander but a little newer. My cruise is 5mph faster than his at the same rpm as well as top speed is about 5-7 more than his. Either way that’s a good deal in my opinion and the fact he went two stroke helps. Thats a torquey 300.
 
That is what I’m insinuating yes. Although it seems to speak the truth in hear is frowned upon...
