Truth be told my wife was expecting me home at a certain time. The leash isn’t very long.
But there were seals and it seems like they were getting impatient waiting for the fish to bite. They were surfacing 10’ from the boat.

DFO out in Howe Sound pulling traps that were set in protected areas. If you can't find your trap could be it is in the wrong spot. Please be aware of protected zones as it can get very expensive! Read the regs!

that's awesome what was your biggest ? I hit thrasher for bottom fish released four undersize lings released two rock cods and kept on rock cod that was a decent size also released couple springs around 10 lbs

Pursuit with black top. Ranged from just unders to 12ish. Pretty steady all day with multiple doubles. Had a heavy peeler find the cables of the only other boat fishing anywhere close to us. Had to be considerably bigger than that

Agreed that pics of bleeding fish on the deck doesn't look good and, if they are truly poaching, posting it on social media likely isn't the smartest thing to do, but can we please keep this thread from going two pages deep on that subject?

This is as close as a pic should be right now, to me anyway. Single 4/0 hook in the jaw, 2 second forceps release zero drama.

I suspect the bonker (handle in the top left corner) is probably there "just in case" it turned out to be a halibut. On the other hand maybe they can't read and logically thought we are allowed to keep hatchery fish. Obviously no rocket scientists involved.
