Kitty Coleman 2013 reports

Anyone want to go? Call me......

Good luck out there slow morning yesterday then wind and waves and in the middle of a running tide wham I have the best hour of fishing this year don't even clean at table, trailer boat go home and sh?t eating grin does not leave my face till today for some reason I fish better in crappy weather it was nice to not put sunscreen on and melt

I was told to be vague you know the cult and all (kidding) that was a limit of let's say very very large springs for two guys in two tacks against the wind one a double header ill pm you if ya need more details

I would normally spend this month in tribune looking for qualicum slabs but I heard someone weighed in a 42 and a couple over thirty and more good sized halibut? I never seem to catch one, fish should start hanging out for journey to puntledge soon.

A fun evening out there tonight. One Coho hatchery and 4 small springs. All fish returned to grow and fight another day. I am still holding out for a spring over 15 lbs.

Was out there as well tonight... Pretty slow. Guess we should have been there yesterday... Hahaha I think I've heard that one before.

It was slow for me too I was out that morning from 6 till 230 eight hours and four liters of coffee had given up and was trolling back in when I hit those good fish I admit I never would have been trolling where I was so it was a fluke

Your the man Roofus! I still have to wonder why are there so many people still netting Cohos at Kitty? Tired of seeing it really. I guess they don't read this forum though. I can't fish any where near the pack of boats anymore get too choked, tired of telling people also they just give u a look like what are u talking about?

It is revolting watching those people that's true. And watching them get all excited over a tinny coho. Best is watching them sneak it on board they look so guilty doing it.

I don't know about feeling guilty-they should but the creel survey girl at pacific playground says it's amazing the number of boats that see her and turn around and go right back out when they were clearly intent on docking. What can you do-my wife was incensed when I kept throwing stuff back and boats along side us were netting everything. Education isn't the answer-enforcement is-or more realistic laws.

I never fish near the pack anyway a hundred flashers is enough for one area don't see how my gear would make a difference I'd rather get skunked than agitated from bad drivers this I why I always end up at tribune for space you know if I was the creel survey girl I would just sit there all night waiting for boats to come in they gotta get out sometimes maybe they'll learn a lesson dumping their fish overboard waste of fuel and time they need to leave these coho for the river flossers:( I think of coho as an annoyance at this point like dog fish or pcod time wasted not fishing slabs thanks to the gaff thread on here I've been net free on all returns for two months

I really don't understand DFOs justification for this debacle. They have created a slaughter of a species that they say there trying to protect. Open Coho for 2 a day any type and move on. Sure there will still be people taking advantage but what's worse, everyone catching and releasing 12 to get 2 hatchery or catch 2 and move on? Less harm to the coho at least is reason enough to do that.;) eman

you have it correct eman 2 or 4 and day is done considering most are hatchery to begin with Maybe dfo will come on here and explain to everyone why we are forced to follow these counter productive measures Thanks looking forward to hearing their rationale

If that was only the case newf. Generally there are quite a few more wild to hatch, so in lies the problem.;) eman

You mean to say more unclipped than clipped but still most are hatchery anyway. Still would love to read a note from DFO on their logic.

Went out Friday late trolling south wham double header one fish is heading back to Campbell river like a freight train so I give rod to my wife while I take the other I land about a 15 and the other rod is still peeling line but slowing I've got a seven year old girl driving the boat I clear my line and downriggers and look at wife who has rod tip in water slack aaaaaaahhhhhh I grab rod praying and nothing I said what did you do she says the rod what was hurting her crotch I laugh but the lost fish haunts me. Picked up a couple of teeners and no coho which was weird 3 springs its dark go home went out Sunday in nasty wind tons of boats after the sixth wild coho I give up then spend twenty minutes floating at ramp watching people try to trailer in a 20 knot wind is it weird that this was the best part of my day
