Did anyone else just hear that 38lbr caught at Thrasher on 88? Oh and if you see me fishing in my 9' Zodiac, bring me a bailer, I need to ****.

I spent most of the day at hole In the wall
One tap tap tap on a pale light green hoochie at 95 ft
I didnt see anyone else catching anything either

looks like upper sunshine coast is fishing really well
epsom pt texada island and around lasqueti island
hearing lots of good catches

was up there yesterday in anderson bay 27lb and an 18lb both reds
green glow splatter back and green glow pearl hootchie down 90 -170 '
even had a hump back whale come through the bay
and break surface while we where sorting a tangle out pretty cool.. :))

both fish where taken well after the tide as we where trolling lasqueti first and had no luck

Nice report john! Good you got up this way,
That's cool you got to see the humpback, probably the same one that's been cruising up and down from secret cove to Roberts creek.
Also a pod of transients that's been out on the shoal pickin off seals for the past week that's nice to see :) to many rubber heads out their

drove up the coast today again to get out for a few hours at epsom pt
hooked up almost straight away but turned out to be a shaker
and had two more up to about 5lbs and that was it .....

hootchies again down 80-130

till next week end then having to bring the boat back to gibsons....

Fished hole in the wall form 12-3. Got 1 hit at 103 feet on a white hootchie.

I was around strachan point, north of hitw and got a pin popper at 118ft on anchovie. Couldn't get the net ready and handle the rod so he got off :(

Also landed a 17 south west of keats at 145 ft on anchovie. That guy had three anchovies In his belly!

Fathers Day out in the boat fishing in the sunshine with your kids. What more could you ask for ? Fish of course !

Fishing Thrasher about 9:15 -1:30 Sunday with nothing in first hour then 5 legals to the boat ( one borderline legal "let go" during tailing process) plus 2 unders and one big dogfish ( my daughter was obsessed with calling it a Tiger Shark !) Kept 13,14,14,20.5 - Looked for coho near surface ( 35-55ft ) from 1:30-3:30 with 4 very feisty undersize chinook hitting in 40-45'.

Nicely Done PH!! Seems you found em on what seemed a sluggish sunday. Damn nice day though. Great looking fish, your daughter seems impressed!

Yup, nice work out there peahead! good way to spend father's day indeed.

We were fishing south of thrasher at porlier and down the east side of galiano. We put in a long day on the water and managed to bonk to 10's and a 15. It was pretty spotty but 3 on the boat was good enough for us. I've been surprised with the number of cookie-cutter 10 lb fish this season. Usually there are a few bigger ones in the mix but for the past few weeks 15# has been the biggest I've managed to boat. Was pretty ideal weather all weekend and a great crossing back to Van on sunday afternoon.

Great reports over the weekend, I was at salmon rock and got a 21lber in 45ft of water 40 on the rigger white and green hoochie very scrappy and lots of fun. I must be slow or something cause Iv read how to post pics but still don't get, I have downloaded onto my computer but when I try to put them on here it something wont let me. What am I missing???

If you are in "reply to post":-

Go to the little square icon in the bar above (4th from right) that says "insert image".

Click it on and it says "browse files"....click on "from computer" ..not "from URL"

You go through a series of "open" sequencies.

keep opening until you come to your picture.

"open" the picture.

When you get it right it will show it ready to load on the upload icon small screen.

Upload it and wait fot it to process.

When it is uploaded it will show it in your post at first as an attachment.

When you actually submit the post and look at it in the threads it will be a picture.

Hope that helps.......

Total noob here. First fish of the year off west Vancouver since I finally have the boat ready. Fished from 11 to 4. We had a couple of bites but nothing that stuck. Tried hoochies spoons and anchovies. Saw fish on the finder but none in the boat. Still learning but having fun. Thanks to all the guys sharing info on this forum.

Welcome Snakey

Thanks for the report, any news is good news.
Cheers

if you had a few hits that did not stick make sure you are using good sharp hooks as the packaged spoons and hootchies are most of the time sub-standard..

Just a tip from one newb to another.

yup x 2!
I have a couple hook files at arms reach all the time, takes 20 seconds to make it sticky again, I check the hook on the side of my thumb with a light touch if it dont pick up skin it aint sharp enough

You have to compress the photos to smaller file size to upload.

She usually doesn't last that long out there ! I guess submarines don't scare fish away too much! ....that was pretty cool for her to see that big sub that went by Thrasher too
