Project Double Trouble!

Awesome thread steely - you have worked way too hard to have had so much bad luck!

One bit of advice that is no help now but would apply before your pod... - if it ain't broke just fish it!

Lol thanks man. The inboard broke every time we went out with it. Something different every time!

Looks like a forum member who will go unnamed by request is going to hook us up with a 225 verado lease return. Its still in service so we have to wait a bit but I think it will be worth it in the long run. Very cool!

so awsome, great community to be apart of on here!

Been a while since Ive updated... Recently we have added a 3/8" plate to the back of the pod to help handle the torque and the extra weight of the Verado. Also added an anode mounting tab which we never had before which is a big nono. We should take delivery of the 2013225CXL within the next couple of weeks. All rigging parts are on order (excluding steering). We will be going with the standard hydraulic helm and not the merc power steering system. Im getting excited and cant wait to have my boat running again!

Wow, only 90 hours is killer. This one had 607 hours when I went for a test ride. Love the sound of the verado engines

Ya like i said i got lucky on that one for sure. I wish mine was a verado but its just a regular four stroke. It looked lonley buy its self so i added a matching 2014 8hp kicker, pumped to get out on it for the first rip, as soon as the seat boxs are done and installed ill be putting her in the drink for a sea trial. gonna be so nice to have new reliable power on it. 607 is nothing i see them come threw the shop pushing 2000 and more and still hold very good compression and run like a swiss watch, your gonna love that motor.

looks great, did you shop around for the controls before you bought them?

Thanks man. Yes, I price shopped the same guys you suggested and got a good idea of what retail was then ordered through a contact I have for cost + 15% so everything is brand new and I finally figured out exactly what I needed for the rigging.

Nice looking DE. Hope to see you on the water when I come over this summer. Things will be OK, just a couple of rough spots.

I know! It might happen lol. It could possibly go up for sale in the near future and be replaced with a Merc pro-kicker.
