If it's a simplicity contest, a piece of tuna cord or seine twine tied in a knot is by far the simplest, and cheapest.

not in favour of swivels or crimps going through the pulley a loop to loop system works just fine braid to green gangion and knocks off the auto stop also it snags ups in the doughnuts on the weight retrievers .....

I do the same permanent attach 200lb mono to swivel on the tuna cord. Tuna cord from ball to braid. I make my clips on their own loop of mono and keep a couple spares. Swap them out if they become greasy or weak. Clean or replace clip back at the dock.

100%, they say the snubber swivel acts as an auto stop but I’ve lost 2 balls before when the swivel rounds the pulley wheel and the cord & ball broke right off. Don’t do that anymore. Cool to see guys different tweaks tho on this thread

This is where in my experience, if your using 20lb balls, swivels and crimps are a no worky situation. The roller does not like it. I don't know how many balls have busted off coming through the roller. We tried every swivel known to man. Every size.

Tuna cord is expensive and wears out quickly. Gangen is less than half the price and twice the lb rating, plus it doesn't wear out. So we went to this setup. I have been permanently attaching the clip for years, however this past year switched to all 500lb gangen. Just tie a loop knot where you want the clip to be located. I tied it up a couple feet from the ball so I can run dummy flashers and not get tangled. Loop knot is the stop, and loop knots for everything else.

Used to change the rubbers on clips once a year when they start slipping, then my bro put a nut in the clip. Now it's so tight you have to feel how tight you put the line in. Works like a hot damn.

Oh man you're really being generous these days! Making the secrets public.

Wonder if they still sell stopper beads ?
Lol !
Feels like I used them a long time ago.
I just bought a pack today in case I ever want to stack rods. Though I have been stacking less and less and just move the river up and down instead. Beads are a pain in the butt.

Lady at Trotac told me today that gangon cord will soon be a thing of the past as manufacturer is discontinuing it.

Hard lay is the best stuff

Not only is it good Gangen, it’s arguably a good boat name…
