Well I guess this was to be an expected loss with a high flying Florida team playing a team after a 11 day hiatus.
Tough test ahead for the Canucks on this road trip but I thought tonight they had reasonably good energy but fatigued and unfortunately Demko was outplayed by Bobrovsky. No fault of Demko but a couple he might have stopped with some Lady Luck.
Off to Tampa who creamed Buffalo last night.

Canucks back to usual form , the opponents are showing how far they have to go to compete , Meyers can look so bad at times

Yup, along way to go. Green Hockey is back, so tuff to watch. Let's face it the Canes were spanked by the Blue Jackets, an early game and that's what we get. Miller is playing injured I suspect, EP40, BB6 with no confidence and Hunt is playing himself off to the AHL again. These morning games have always been a thorn in my side. Never ever in Leaf land.
Off to Washington who at least also played an early game, so both teams are back to back.

Nice, gritty win last night. Predators played a heavy, emotional game in St.Louis the previous night and it showed.
Still anyway you look at it with Horvat, Halak and Garland out and Demko in fine form the Canucks deserve some praise for there resilience. Not sure about Horvat's availability but stuck in Nashville in all likelihood he will miss the upcoming home stand. Florida next.

I really like the way Lammikko's game is coming around, he is thoroughly engaged and contributing, that 4th line was a good 3rd line last night. I'd like to see them bring up Bailey on this home stand to play with Lammikko and Motte. Boudreau has these guys on the ice in crucial situations and they are doing a commendable job, nice to see.

I’d like to see them try someone else, like maybe Bailey with Lammikko and Highmore to see if they could live without Motte as he is a valuable trade chip going into the playoffs

Maybe worth a look see in the future especially with his style of play conducive to injuries. With Miller and Demko done this morning with a positive test their running pretty thin. Game should be cancelled in my opinion as Florida is already in Canada.

Just shows you how important goaltending is these days. Holland along with past GM's in Oiler land have been unwilling to mortgage the future to some degree and go all in on a quality tender. Canucks have been fortunate to have stellar goaltending but lacked in other areas because they were consumed by acquiring veteran players that really didn't hold well to the future.
On another note Meat Loaf passed away from COVID, man oh man "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights", epic song that always brought on consequences.

Great team effort last night. Take the point with a depleted lineup and hopefully play well with another tuff upcoming game against St. Louis. Quinn Hughes had a monster game , best in a Canucks uniform in my opinion.
Hoglander had so many chances to bury one but somehow needs to bare down on his opportunities. Young and still learning the pro game.
