WTB something slightly lighter than a commander 30 and with outboards.

ok so it’s a little over budget and slightly too big but let’s be honest you know you want it
Yeah that's just crazy

That thing is insane, now that I look at it after the eagle craft. Someone was a little worried above fuel burn or else it would be perfect. 880 gallons. What would the range be? Hawaii trip anyone?
I had the same questions about the fuel capacity / range of the Ocean Sport and the Lindell 42. From speaking with people it seems there are a few reasons for it.

1. Seems most of the boats up in Alaska want to have massive tanks. It might be harder to find fuel up there so they need the range more than we do down here.
2. Some guys go out for three or four days. They don't have the same daily / possession limits for some of their species, so they can fill freezers when they get out.
3. Some guys who travel cross border for cruising and fishing want to fill their tanks with the less taxed fuel in USA instead of having to stop in Canada and fuel up at a higher rate more regularly.

Interesting. I wonder if he can go from Seattle to Alaska on one tank, you aren’t going to trailer it. I have 2-300 mile range at cruise and more than double that at 5-7kn. I’ve thought about whipping over to Roche Harbour to fill up but the fuel savings on 90 odd gallons doesn’t seem huge and I’m cheap with Scottish blood. Other guys who run my boat run it with a quarter tank just to reduce fuel burn by having a lighter boat but I worry about condensation in the tank.

I’ve chatted with my brother about putting in at Rupert and going fishing in Ak and enjoying their limits. With 4 kids and 2 dads I think it might be worth it but easy to overload the boat with ice and fish :)

@Rain City here is the diesel inboard vs outboard performance number on the Seasport 32. Looks like 400 gallons won’t quite allow the Bellingham to Haines AK trip in one go even at slow spped

The Sea Sport 3200 is the only boat I would consider upgrading to from a Commander 30. I seriously looked for one before pulling the trigger on our 30. They are pretty hard to find though unless you order new and then you'd blow your budget before getting started. Gimme a shout RC if you decide what your doing. I'd definitely be interested in trading up to diesels and my 30 would be a perfect candidate to pod.

Well that's not very reassuring

I know. I haven't ruled it out.

What about this RC, pretty well set up and its been for sale for quite some time, plus with that tv you could watch some chicken cooking tutorials ;)

That's pretty nice actually. Aren't those river boats though? And what a dumb name. 20k off just for that.
