You can pay to get it scoped at a dealer to inspect for corrosion but any 15 year old engine is a roll of the financial dice.

Just was a defect in some of them of the vintage. I tested a 2006 150 four stroke yamaha. I suspected it had the same problem I ran away from it. 2006+ dont have to worry too much.

I’d also watch for this. We had ours scoped by a yami dealer and given a clean bill. The entire head and exhaust manifold was corroded and fried the engine a few years later.

I had a 2003. Had it scoped and paid for the exhaust kit and installed it. It still rusted out 5 years later. It had 700 hours on it when I replaced in 2019. Low hours don't seem to make a diff.

Ya I would buy a yamaha in a heart beat but engines make me nervous you should go with what your gut tells you. Chances are that yamaha with 800 hours is fine bore scope. lot of slime balls out there I looked at a searay like a 92. I pulled a spark plug coated in black engine oil. You should either take it to a shop or make your own leakdown tester. Lots of dirt out there.

given the age 25-28k for the motor. so 33k plus wiggle room. Dunno if I had the means would be a nice boat but the hull is basically the question
This is a buddy of mine, great boat that I’ve spent a bit of time on. He’s got some wiggle room in the pricing as he didn’t know exactly where to peg it. Doing a career change and getting rid of the guide boat.
Seems reasonable at a glance to me.. are the pursuit tiara hulls well regarded? To much motor / fuel for me to afford to fish.
